BELTSVILLE, MD: Cloud marketing software company Vocus has released its Recommendation Engine feature to help PR professionals more easily identify social media influencers and shareable content.
The feature is part of Vocus' fall 2012 release, which also includes enhancements in social media engagement, monitoring, and analytics.
Based on a user's selected search terms, key words, and conversation topics, the Recommendation Engine will offer suggestions on who to follow and engage, as well as what content to share. The feature is designed to make social media marketing easier for beginners and highlight opportunities that more experienced users may have missed, said Vocus CMO Jason Jue.
He added that the Recommendation Engine “simplifies the process so you can keep on top of all that's going on with social media.”
Other improvements to Vocus' platform include increased integration for sharing and posting content on social networks such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter through a single dashboard. Users can also authorize their colleagues to access the same dashboard and collaborate on social media posts, or assign tasks to their team members.
Vocus also unveiled enhancements to its social media monitoring tools, allowing users to search and analyze influencers in their industry over months or years. With its analytics feature, customers can now view statistics from Facebook, Twitter, and Bit.ly, including analytical charts and demographic data, on a single dashboard.
The company began rolling out the Recommendation Engine and updates in August. All users will get the release by the end of September. The Recommendation Engine is part of the Vocus PR Suite, which starts at $6,995 per year.
Vocus acquired iContact, a cloud-based email and social marketing service provider, in February.
