ISELIN, NJ: Former General Electric communications executive Frank Mantero has joined Ansell Healthcare as VP of global branding, corporate communications, and creative services.
Mantero started in the role at the beginning of this month. He is responsible for corporate communications, PR, marketing, branding strategy, and CSR. Mantero reports to Tom Draskovics, president and GM of the specialty markets unit, and reports indirectly to CEO Magnus Nicolin.
Mantero leads a department of 11 people in New Jersey, China, Malaysia, and Brussels, Belgium. He collaborates with the marketing leaders for the company's global regions and four business units: industrial, specialty markets, medical, and sexual wellness.
“[Ansell] is in a very aggressive growth mode, especially in emerging markets, and there's a strong opportunity to leverage the corporate brand across all business units and regions,” Mantero said. “But one size doesn't fit all, and it will be important to understand the needs of different regions and how to really build the brand within those markets.”
With Mantero's appointment, Ansell elevated the communications leader role so that he reports at a higher level. Mantero is replacing a Brussels-based communications director.
Prior to joining Ansell, Mantero was corporate communications director at USI Insurance Services. He also worked at GE for seven years, where he served as director of corporate citizenship and marketing communications leader. He was previously communications director at Cigna Healthcare.
Ansell has 10,000-plus employees in more than 30 countries. The company's products include industrial and surgical gloves, condoms, and lubricants.
