WASHINGTON: Finn Partners has appointed David MacKay, former SVP at Fleishman-Hillard, a partner at the agency.
MacKay is responsible for growing the firm's integrated marketing capabilities, as well as helping to lead Finn subsidiary Polskin Arts & Communications Counselors, which is headquartered in New York. MacKay, who will report to Jessica Ross, senior partner and GM of the Washington office, and Philippa Polskin, president of Polskin, is the first Washington-based partner at the subsidiary.
MacKay said his main goals are to grow the consumer marketing practice in Finn's Washington office and expand its arts and culture consultancy.
“I'll be the go-to person on integrated marketing opportunities, branding, and any campaign that ties together consumers and business-to-business,” he explained. “Parallel to that, I'll grow the arts and cultural expertise of this office and really connect Finn Partners nationally to the arts and cultural opportunities in this marketplace.”
He added that promoting the arts and culture is a “personal passion” of his.
MacKay, who said he believes Finn Partners will continue to invest in additional talent, will also work closely with the New York team to support ongoing client work. The firm recently launched a national healthcare practice, Finn Partners Health.
Prior to his time at Fleishman, where MacKay spearheaded campaigns for clients such as AT&T and Circuit City, MacKay spent 13 years at Hill & Knowlton, including working as SVP of the firm's consumer marketing practice in Chicago from 2002 to 2006.
MacKay, who founded his own agency in May called MacKay Communications, also worked at Ketchum for six years as VP and group leader of the firm's consumer marketing practice.
The Jamaica Tourist Board recently rehired Finn Partners as AOR for the US, Canada, and Latin America following a competitive review. The agency spun off from Ruder Finn last December.
