With the app, called Thomson Reuters IR Mobile, IR executives can manage events, investor meetings, and contacts from an iPad, iPhone, or Android device.

It is free to download for subscribers of the Thomson ONE IR program's Contact Management System, a platform that organizes contacts and events. The app helps users make changes and notes in the system from their mobile devices, instead of working from a desktop.

“IR officers are spending less time at their desk. They simply have less time in the day to go exploring around our desktop program,” said William Haney, global head of IR services at Thomson Reuters. “Ever since Apple launched the iPad, tablet penetration rates have increased, especially among senior executives, and demand has risen for access to some of the Thomson ONE views via mobile devices, particularly tablets.

While the app is only available now to Thomson ONE customers, the company will consider launching a standalone mobile app for IR professionals in the future, Haney added.

On October 27, Thomson Reuters will also launch a customized homepage for the Thomson ONE IR program, which will include features such as ownership data, events calendars, first call research, and investor opportunities. Customers will be able to personalize the layout and information that appears on the page.

“We want them to be able to quickly get to the information they need,” Haney said.

The Thomson ONE IR Contact Management System costs between $15,000 and $20,000 per year.

Earlier this month, Thomson Reuters launched its Public Relations Suite, a service designed to improve the effectiveness of campaigns.
