BOSTON: Denterlein, a communications firm specializing in healthcare, professional services, higher education, and public policy, has acquired Morrissey & Company.

With the combined staffs, Denterlein will have 20 employees. It will add Morrissey's focus on the life sciences, financial services, consumer, and technology sectors. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Peter Morrissey, founder and president of Morrissey, passed away in August. Prior to his death, he worked out the terms of the deal with Denterlein president Geri Denterlein.

In 2000, Denterlein founded her firm after leaving McDermott/O'Neill & Associates, where she served as SVP and MD, when it was acquired by Omnicom.
