SCHAUMBURG, IL: The Society of Actuaries, a professional membership organization for the study and assessment of financial risk, has selected GolinHarris as its PR agency partner following an RFP.
Lisamarie Lukas, director of communications at the organization, told PRWeek in September that the group, which serves actuaries around the world, had invited firms to pitch for the business. She declined to comment further on the agency selection process.
Pat Gould, MD of marketing and communications at the society, said in a statement that the firm will use its “smart strategy, creative ideas, and unmatched ability to engage with our key audiences.”
GolinHarris, which previously worked with the organization from 2006 to 2011, will help the group with global expansion into key regions, as well as growth in member education and credentialing.
In 2007, the organization and GolinHarris launched a branding campaign to enhance the industry's status and help the general public understand it better. The effort won Corporate Branding Campaign of the Year at the 2008 PRWeek Awards. The goal of the initiative, “Actuaries in Action,” was to increase the depth of those in the profession by gathering actuarial stories and case studies to use at conferences.
For the last year, Burson-Marsteller had handled PR for the Society of Actuaries. Golin served as the group's agency partner from 2006 to 2011.
“GolinHarris was instrumental in supporting and sustaining our brand launch in 2006,” Gould said in a statement.
Representatives of the society were not immediately available for comment.
