Technology specialist agency Liberty Comms is planning to open a New York office, its first venture outside the UK.
The search to recruit a US team is underway, with plans to open early next year.
“Too many firms rely too heavily on sending UK-based staffers to build North American business, but that approach means local knowledge of the market and the technology landscape just doesn't exist,” said Dee Gibbs, Liberty founder and MD. “By opening and staffing a New York office with local specialists, we will be coupling regional expertise and know-how with our distinctive Liberty way. The next six months represents an enormously exciting period of opportunities for Liberty.”
The expansion follows increasing demand from US-based clients that Liberty works with in the European market.
The news comes after a range of UK-based agencies, such as TVC, Diffusion, John Doe, and Frank PR, have expanded to New York. Most have cited the growth potential of the New York market and the relative health of the US economy compared with that of the UK and Europe.
