MINNEAPOLIS: Mattress and pillow manufacturer Tempur-Pedic has selected Carmichael Lynch Spong as its PR AOR following a competitive review.
Carmichael Lynch has also been named creative AOR for the company. Edelman was awarded the PR business for Tempur-Pedic in 2005. An Edelman representative said the firm is still working with the mattress company on financial PR.
Tempur-Pedic representatives were not immediately available for comment.
“[Carmichael Lynch's] work for iconic brands such as Subaru and Harley-Davidson struck a personal chord as they built upon each brand's loyal and fervent owner base to attract new users to each business,” said Rick Anderson, president of Tempur-Pedic North America, in a statement.
According to information and consultancy network Kantar, the measured media spend for Tempur-Pedic is more than $100 million.
In November, Tempur-Pedic announced its plan to buy rival company Sealy for $1.3 billion, but the Federal Trade Commission has asked for additional information on the acquisition, putting it on hold for at least 30 days.
