CHICAGO: Social@Ogilvy, Ogilvy & Mather's cross-discipline social media practice, has hired Lori Dicker and Liz Taylor to boost its Midwest operations.
Taylor's role as SVP and executive creative director is a newly created position at the agency. She leads digital and creative program development for Social@Ogilvy in the Midwest, reporting to Nathan Friedman, MD and head of the Chicago office at Ogilvy Public Relations. Taylor comes to Social@Ogilvy from digital, social, and creative roles at advertising agencies Ogilvy & Mather, R/GA, Razorfish, Tribal DDB, and Element 79.
“As we've grown, we needed someone steeped in traditional social and creative development who will help create programs that fully engage consumers in the digital and social space,” said Friedman.
Dicker joins Social@Ogilvy as EVP and group director, leading a team of 40 and reporting to Friedman. She is responsible for employee and business development and client programming, said Friedman.
Prior to this, Dicker was SVP of digital media innovation at marketing agency Moxie, where she worked on digital media planning and buying for clients including 20th Century Fox divisions Fox Searchlight, Fox Consumer Products, and Fox Home Entertainment. She previously founded the social media marketing agency Karma Media Labs and led the social strategy group at The Walt Disney Company.
Last month, Social@Ogilvy hired Peter Fasano as SVP and head of the practice in Atlanta, reporting to Mickey Nall, MD of Ogilvy Public Relations Atlanta. Ogilvy appoints Social@Ogilvy group directors to lead the unit in each of the agency's major offices.
Social@Ogilvy will grow to include “more integration, more creative minds that think differently, and joint teams with backgrounds not just in traditional PR,” Friedman said.
“The only way to lead consumers down the path to sale is through integration,” he added.
Ogilvy & Mather launched Social@Ogilvy in February, folding Ogilvy Public Relations' 360 Digital Influence practice into the new group. John Bell is global MD of Social@Ogilvy, leading the practice's global efforts from New York.
The practice is embedded throughout the Ogilvy organization and offers services including social media marketing and communications, social shopping for retail activation, social CRM, social customer care, social business solutions, and listening and analytics.
