HARTFORD, CT: Global Strategy Group has rehired former partner Roy Occhiogrosso as MD of its Hartford office.
Occhiogrosso, who was a partner at GSG from 2003 to 2010, spent the last two years as senior adviser and chief strategist to Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy, a Democrat. In that role, he oversaw all communications operations for the governor's office. He also served as chief spokesperson and speechwriter and advised on the framing of major policy issues for the Malloy Administration.
During his first stint at GSG, he helped to grow the firm's practice areas in public affairs, strategic communications, media relations, political strategy, and public policy for a mix of political, corporate, and advocacy clients. He will start in his new role at the firm on January 14.
In 2011, the GSG named Alan Sexton EVP of communications, with responsibility for leading its corporate communications practice.
