SYDNEY: Chinese PC maker Lenovo has hired Weber Shandwick to develop social media strategy in Australia and New Zealand.
Lenovo's social media had previously been handled in-house. However, to grow its business in Australia and New Zealand across sectors including the small business community, government, and education, Lenovo hired Weber. The firm does not handle traditional PR for the company.
“We identified the need for a strategic digital agency partnership that would contribute to our marketing mix and enhance engagement in our target markets,” said Danielle Uskovic, environment and social media manager for Lenovo Australia and New Zealand.
For its part, Weber will focus on community management, content creation, and online advocacy.
“Lenovo continues to grow in the SMB market, and it is exciting to tailor a social media campaign for this audience,” said Jye Smith, VP of digital for Asia-Pacific at Weber.
