NEW YORK: Bank of America has shifted the majority of its PR duties to Burson-Marsteller.
The WPP Group agency is expanding its responsibilities beyond PR for the Merrill Lynch financial advisers division and global wealth management executives, said a Bank of America source.
Bank of America will no longer work with Emanate, which supported the financial institution for the past seven years on divisions including consumer, small business, commercial banking, and global wealth management.
The bank will continue to work with Weber Shandwick on corporate communications and CSR.
Last May, the bank decided to stick with Weber, Emanate, and Burson despite switching its global advertising account from Omnicom's BBDO Worldwide to a dedicated team assembled by WPP.
