BRUSSELS: Ketchum has hired former European Commission official Auke Haagsmaas as head of public affairs in its Brussels office.
The hiring will allow Ketchum to offer clients high-level support in devising strategies that will result in positive regulatory and legislative outcomes in the European Union, the firm said in a statement. He will work on European regulatory matters and other public affairs issues.
Last July, Ketchum hired Jeremy Pelofsky, a former Reuters correspondent, as VP and media strategist in its public and corporate affairs practice. The Omnicom Group agency also bought Capstrat last month in part to strengthen its public affairs work and geographic strength in the Southern US.
