NEW YORK: Bite has promoted SVPs Alisa MacDonnell and Will Willis to GMs of its San Francisco and New York offices, respectively.
Both MacDonnell and Willis are reporting to Andy Cunningham, who was promoted to CEO from her previous role of president at the beginning of this year. Both MacDonnell and Willis are retaining their SVP titles, according to a statement from the firm.
MacDonnell is overseeing Bite's West Coast operation and acting as a senior leader on a wide range of clients, from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies, while Willis handles the New York office and manages clients such as Sony and Dell.
The agency has never had GMs for its San Francisco or New York offices before.
“The big goal is transforming from a traditional PR firm into a global marketing services agency, and the second part in North America is to become the engine of the company again,” said Cunningham.
She added that the UK and Asia operations are doing very well and that she wants the North American offices to be as strong as its international counterparts.
Prior to Bite, MacDonnell was a VP at Atomic PR. She has also served as a news assignment editor at CNN, promotions producer for the TV show Extra, and producer and editor at KPIX in San Francisco.
Willis, who initially worked at Bite as GM of the Toronto office, previously served as senior PR manager for Advanced Micro Devices. He also worked at Ketchum as an account supervisor.
In addition to the GM promotions, Bite has made a number of other global leadership appointments. Victoria Graham, previously SVP of operations in North America, was named chief of staff, where she will focus on strategic planning, staffing, and agency operations.
Steven Brewster, formerly SVP of marketing for North America, was appointed SVP of global marketing. He will work to align the firm's marketing efforts around the globe and build the Bite brand.
Andy Steen, culture and communications director for e-commerce solutions company Rearden Commerce, was brought on as SVP of internal communication. She will work with Bite's global management team, regional leaders, marketing, and human resources teams to increase teamwork within the agency and create feedback tools.
Leon Hunt has also joined the firm as CFO, moving to Bite from the Hoffman Agency, where he served as CFO and COO.
At the end of November, the agency announced its merger with UK-based digital marketing firm Bourne, which resulted in its rebranded name of “Bite” from Bite Communications.
