SAN FRANCISCO: Three senior West Coast PR executives have teamed up on a new, as of yet unnamed, agency venture.
Brandee Barker, Sean Garrett, and Brian O'Shaughnessy have founded the firm.
It is understood that the new venture will concentrate on strategic consultancy and will be project focused.
A source with knowledge of the new agency said that the three founding partners were laying out frameworks, plans, and strategies but do not yet have a formal office premises.
The high-profile trio's former in-house roles read like a who's who of Silicon Valley communications. From 2006 to 2010, Barker was director of global communications and public policy at Facebook. Prior to that, she had stints as a VP at Zeno Group and Ruder Finn San Francisco, as well as a spell as director of marketing and communications at Oracle.
Garrett was formerly VP of communications at Twitter. Previously, he was cofounder and partner at 463 Communications and held VP roles at Bite Communications and Applied Communications.
O'Shaughnessy was most recently head of global communications at Skype from January 2009. Prior to that, he was director of global corporate communications and public affairs at Google for two years. He also worked as director of corporate communications at VeriSign for six years.
It is understood that Garrett has been working as a consultant at venture capital firm Greylock Partners, and this work will be subsumed into the new agency.
Barker has been working with Facebook COO Cheryl Sandberg on a personal basis to promote her forthcoming book, Lean In. it is not known whether this work will come under the auspices of the new venture.
