NEW YORK: AppNexus has appointed RLM Finsbury as its global AOR as the company expands in the advertising technology space.
RLM Finsbury is assisting AppNexus with media relations, communications strategy and messaging, and thought leadership. The agency is reaching out to business and consumer press about the company's growth story and its role in New York City's technology scene. It is also helping AppNexus with global communications, particularly in key markets such as Europe and Asia.
RLM Finsbury began working with AppNexus last month following an informal review.
AppNexus has grown to manage about $700-million-worth of ads since it was founded in 2007, and it doubled its staff to 400 last year. The company said last month that it had raised $75 million in additional Series D financing, bringing its total funding to $140.5 million.
AppNexus is part of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's “We Are Made in New York” program, an initiative showcasing start-ups and touting the city's tech sector. Headquartered in New York, AppNexus has offices in San Francisco, Seattle, London, Paris, and Tel Aviv.
“Digital advertising is the lifeblood of the Internet, so we're thrilled to be in a position where our innovations are making a meaningful impact,” said AppNexus president Michael Rubenstein. “We expect 2013 to be a watershed year for us, and we're looking forward to partnering with RLM Finsbury to tell our story to a broad group of stakeholders.”
Prior to this, AppNexus CEO Brian O'Kelley created ad exchange platform Right Media, which Yahoo acquired for $850 million in 2007. Rubenstein was previously a DoubleClick executive and the director of Google Ad Exchange.
