DENVER: Ogilvy Public Relations has partnered with the University of Colorado at Denver for a business and communications education program in China.
The university is conducting the undergraduate course at its International College Beijing from February 16 to April 12. Seven American and 10 Chinese students will develop PR proposals for the government information office of the city of Chengdu that address the problem of attracting foreign direct investment and international tourism. Chengdu is China's fourth-largest city and the capital of Sichuan province.
Ogilvy's Denver office will evaluate the students' proposals based on client objectives, creativity, and effectiveness, with the potential for some ideas to be presented to the client. The course aims to expose undergraduates to careers in international PR and to foster cooperation among US and Chinese students.
