NEW YORK: Former Dow Jones CCO Bethany Sherman and Locke Lord partner Chrysta Castañeda have joined Brunswick Group as partners.

Based in New York, Sherman is working with corporate clients on issues in the financial institutions sector. She started in the role March 1.

Sherman was previously CCO of Dow Jones for more than two years, where she managed global communications for brands including The Wall Street Journal, Barron's, and Dow Jones Newswires. She left the company last June. Dow Jones subsequently named Paula Keve as her replacement.

Prior to her tenure at Dow Jones, Sherman served as SVP of corporate communications at NASDAQ OMX for more than eight years.

Castañeda will join Brunswick March 14 from international law firm Locke Lord, where she was a senior litigation partner for ten years. In her new role, Castañeda will work in the litigation communications practice in Brunswick's Dallas office.

Before that, she was a partner at law firm Arter & Hadden and an associate at Jones Day.

“[Sherman and Castañeda] will further our ability to deliver value for our clients in the areas of corporate and litigation communications, where we continue to see strong potential for growth in the US market,” Brunswick US senior partner Steven Lipin said, in a statement.

Brunswick US managing partner Michael Buckley is leaving the firm this month to join Facebook as VP of business communications.

Keith Burton, the longtime president of GolinHarris' internal communications unit Insidedge, joined Brunswick last month as a partner in the New York office. Burton is working on expanding the firm's employee engagement offering.
