MIAMI: Burger King has hired Alison Brod Public Relations as PR AOR for US marketing communications, replacing Coyne PR.

Burger King selected Alison Brod following a "lengthy review," the company said in a statement. Coyne, which was named AOR for the brand in 2011, did not re-pitch for the account.

"We were invited to participate in the RFP but declined," said Coyne CEO Tom Coyne, in a statement.

Alison Brod "will focus on all of [Burger King's] consumer targets," a Burger King spokesperson said.

Representatives from Alison Brod were not immediately available for comment.

In January, Burger King global communications and culture VP Miguel Piedra co-founded his own firm called Rock Orange. The firm handles global corporate communications, internal communications, executive communications, issues management, and meetings management for Burger King.

Alison Brod, an agency known for its beauty and fashion expertise, launched a multicultural division last year. Clients in the unit include L'Oreal Paris, SKYY Spirits, Guthy Renker, and Old Navy.

This story was updated to include statements from Coyne and Burger King.
