LONDON: The Playboy Club in London has appointed M&C Saatchi PR to handle its consumer PR as it approaches its second anniversary.
The venue is a private members' club and casino, operated by London Clubs International. It features Playboy Bunnies, a bar, restaurant, and nighttime venue.
It has awarded M&C Saatchi a retainer after a pitch against a number of undisclosed agencies.
The club originally engaged Mischief for PR for its launch in 2011. It is understood that Mischief stopped working with the club about 18 months ago and the agency did not participate in this pitch.
Lucy Sharp, national PR manager at London Clubs International, said M&C Saatchi PR's brief is to “showcase our venue as a leading London entertainment destination.”
“It's going to be an exciting journey for us as we enhance the club's existing reputation as one of London's top entertainment venues but also showcase it alongside a number of new and thrilling concepts to an entirely untapped audience,” said Molly Aldridge, chief executive of M&C Saatchi PR.
Separately, Playboy magazine is celebrating its 60th anniversary in the US this year.
Also on Monday, parent company M&C Saatchi reported a 10% rise in full-year 2012 profit on the strength of new accounts from Ballantine's, LG, Peroni beer, and Virgin Holidays.
