NEW YORK: Edelman has hired former Hill+Knowlton Strategies SVP Claudia Husemann as EVP and corporate communications group head.
Based in New York, Husemann is leading a team of a half-dozen SVPs in the corporate communications group. She is reporting to Ron Guirguis, MD of corporate and public affairs at Edelman. Husemann started in the role last month.
Her objective is to grow Edelman's corporate client portfolio organically as well as to attract new business, she said. The corporate communications group works with companies in the professional services, financial, food and beverage, and real estate sectors, including GE, Citi, and MetLife.
“Edelman is independent, so it can invest in a robust measure of services. You can bring all of that to clients to advance their business objectives,” Husemann said.
Guirguis oversees six units at Edelman: corporate, technology, employee engagement, public affairs, business and social purpose, and consulting.
Husemann was previously SVP and director of the New York corporate practice at Hill+Knowlton Strategies. During her six and a half years at the WPP Group agency, she also led the Deloitte account and served as director of the New York technology practice.
Prior to that, Husemann was marketing manager at Intel for one year and SVP at Waggener Edstrom Worldwide for six years.
Last month, former Deloitte PR leader Keith Lindenburg joined Edelman as EVP and technology group head. Lindenburg was previously a client of Husemann's.
