NEW YORK: Socialbakers, a social media measurement and analytics company, is ramping up its US operations by expanding its New York office and launching a mobile app.
The app, called Brand Love, will launch next month, allowing users to rate various brands. It will complement Socialbakers' social analytics services, which help brands measure and track social media campaigns and compare their performance on social channels to competitors and industry standards.
Socialbakers is also moving its New York office, which it opened more than a year ago, into a larger space and hiring additional employees. Earlier this month, the company named Rob Schatzel VP of sales for North America. CEO Jan Rezab is moving to New York from the company's headquarters in Prague.
In December, Socialbakers acquired SocialBrando, a social media advertising company based in Croatia, and integrated its platform and staff with the company. Socialbakers said the deal would allow it to develop new ad insights and analytics products.
The acquisition followed an investment round last November in which Socialbakers raised $6 million in funding.
Socialbakers can also help companies manage crises that start on social media, Rezab said. The company uses real-time data to monitor activity and predict how a social media crisis will escalate.
“Companies should use crises as an opportunity to optimize their social media,” Rezab said.
Founded in 2009, Socialbakers employs about 200 people and serves more than 1,200 clients in 75 countries. Besides New York and Prague, it has offices in San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Dubai, Istanbul, London, Munich, and Paris.
