Former McDonald's comms leader joins ComEd

CHICAGO: ComEd, a unit of energy company Exelon, has hired former McDonald's communications leader Bill Whitman as VP of communications.

CHICAGO: ComEd, a unit of energy company Exelon, has hired former McDonald's communications leader Bill Whitman as VP of communications.

Whitman is responsible for developing communications strategies and leading internal and external communications, branding, and advertising.

Whitman was previously US MD at Burson-Marsteller. Prior to that, he was communications VP and CCO at McDonald's USA, where he worked for 13 years. In that role, he led internal and external communications, media relations, social media, public affairs, stakeholder engagement, and field alignment.

ComEd, or Commonwealth Edison Company, serves approximately 3.8 million customers in northern Illinois.
