CHICAGO: Edelman parent company DJE Holdings has named outgoing US Ambassador to the UK Louis Susman non-executive chairman.

Susman will focus on global business development and counsel Edelman president and CEO Richard Edelman and the senior leadership team.

Richard Edelman has assumed the additional roles of DJE Holdings chairman and chairman of the board. The change follows the death of Edelman founder Daniel J. Edelman in January.

Susman has served as US Ambassador to the UK since 2009. Prior to that, he was MD and vice chairman of Citigroup Corporate and Investment Banking. He served as Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's national finance chairman in 2004 and senior adviser to then-Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) during his 2008 presidential campaign. Susman also practiced law for 27 years and was a senior partner at law firm Thompson & Mitchell in St. Louis.

Susman joins board members Ruth Edelman, deputy chairman of DJE Holdings; John Edelman, MD of global engagement and corporate responsibility; global COO Matthew Harrington; CFO Victor Malanga; and Steven Felsher, senior advisor at Quadrangle Group.
