LONDON: Jaguar's global brand PR manager has apologized after agencies protested over the result of a recent pitch.

Dan Connell issued an apology for “any confusion” around the pitch for Jaguar Academy.

“The full decision on whether we had one agency or a number had not been taken, and it is still part of the review process, which is a complete business review of the academy itself,” he said.

His words followed complaints that no PR agency was picked for the brief. Instead, the company's global brand PR team will manage PR for the foreseeable future.

A number of senior agency figures expressed frustration to PRWeek UK, one labeling the process “an absolute joke.”

The Jaguar Academy gives young people the chance to work with sports stars such as British track and field athlete Jessica Ennis.
