NEW YORK: AOL has appointed Peter Land, former SVP of communications at PepsiCo, to serve as SVP of corporate communications.
Land, who will report to AOL CEO Tim Armstrong, will lead and develop strategies for the company's global external and internal corporate communications efforts. He will also work on PR initiatives for AOL's brands, as well as investor relations, government affairs, and public policy.
During his time at PepsiCo, which he joined in 2009, Land served in various leadership positions, most recently leading global media strategy, financial communications, and issues management. His first role at the food and beverage giant was managing communications for the PepsiCo America Beverages division and the company's corporate digital strategy.
Before PepsiCo, Land worked at Edelman, serving as global MD. He also worked as director of marketing communications for the NBA, and as director of European promotions at Kraft Foods in London.
In December, AOL chief marketing and communications officer Jolie Hunt left the company.
