NEW YORK: Former NASDAQ OMX communications leader Frank De Maria has joined social media monitoring company Social360 as CEO of the Americas.

De Maria is reporting to Social360 co-founder and group CEO Ryszard Bublik. He is responsible for leading and growing the US business as well as product marketing.

Social360 has four employees in the US and nine in the UK, along with about 40 contractors. The company plans to make additional hires in the US in coming months, De Maria said.

De Maria was previously SVP and global head of corporate communications at NASDAQ OMX. He left the role in 2012 after nearly two years with the exchange operator. Prior to joining NASDAQ, De Maria served as head of communications at Newsweek and as global head of media relations at Thomson Reuters. He also spent 11 years in the New York and London offices of Brunswick Group as a director.

With offices in New York and London, Social360 helps communications professionals manage corporate reputation by monitoring conversations on social media in multiple languages and countries. The company provides analysis and custom reports using a search technology developed in-house. It has worked with clients such as BP, Barclays, SABMiller, and the Financial Times.

Social360's services are “driven by the experience of communications professionals,” said De Maria, noting that he used the platform while at NASDAQ.
