TAMPA, FL: Retirement plans provider ASPire Financial Services has hired Shelia Reed to lead communications and marketing at the company.
As SVP and CMO, Reed is reporting to ASPire president and CEO Pete Kirtland. James Olson, a founder of ASPire and the former CMO, has taken on different responsibilities at the company, Reed said. She declined to disclose additional information about Olson's new role.
Reed joined ASPire in April. Her duties include leading strategies for ASPire's product development and packaging, brand efforts, digital and social media, and marketing and communications initiatives. She is also helping to position the company as a leader in the retirement space.
One of her main objectives is “unlocking the full power of the company's brand,” Reed said.
“Building up on that brand awareness is going to be very important to our success moving forward,” she added.
Prior to joining ASPire, Reed served as VP of marketing at PMSI, a products and services provider for the workers' compensation and liability market. During her seven-year tenure at PMSI, Reed led PR and social media efforts and helped launch new products.
Earlier in her career, Reed was the global brand leader for KPMG Consulting, which later became BearingPoint, for 10 years. She oversaw the company's rebranding from KPMG to BearingPoint in 2002.
ASPire has about 150 employees, more than $12 billion in recordkeeping assets, 8,000 retirement plans, and 255,000 participants.
