SAN JOSE, CA: Samsung's Media Solution Center in the US has appointed Laurie Spindler-Jones, former head of communications at PopSugar, as its first head of PR and communications.
Spindler-Jones, who started in the role on May 13, is reporting to Steve Cho, head of strategy and planning, marketing, insights, and analytics at Samsung Media Solution Center America.
Communications sits within the strategy and planning, marketing, insights, and analytics part of the Samsung division, said Spindler-Jones, via email.
The Media Solution Center is the unit that provides content and services for Samsung devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart TVs, and the recently launched Samsung Hub and Samsung WatchON, explained Spindler-Jones via email. She added that she will oversee all PR and communications functions for the division.
Prior to joining Samsung, Spindler-Jones served as head of communications for PopSugar, a women-focused digital media and shopping company, for nearly two years. She also worked at MySpace, serving as director of global corporate, product, and consumer PR, and as director of corporate communications at Hitachi Data Systems.
