DALLAS: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has brought on TurnerTrippick PR to build its profile in Europe ahead of Brazil's World Cup final and Olympic Games.
TurnerTrippick will help raise awareness of the airport in the UK and Europe, emphasizing its location as a gateway into the US and South America, said agency cofounder and former Lockheed Martin comms head Chris Trippick.
The 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and Rio 2016 Olympic Games make it an “exciting time to be promoting the airport,” Trippick said.
“We are already looking at ways to leverage the opportunities these events will undoubtedly create,” he added.
As part of its promotional efforts, Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has signed up to attend the Paris Air Show in June.
The airport, which claims to be the fourth busiest in the world, reached 200 destinations in March.
“Dallas/Fort Worth is the only airport where you can get to every other major city in the US within a four hour flight,” Trippick said. “A lot of people travel to either the East or West coast to enter the US, but this is a third option and we want the European market to know that.”
Trippick left his role as Lockheed Martin's UK VP of communications and public affairs in 2011 and launched his own agency with Celia Turner earlier this year. The firm focuses on the aerospace and defense sector.
