BOISE, ID: Fahlgren Mortine will open its first office in the western US next month in Boise, ID. The location will open its doors July 8.
The firm chose Boise so it could be close to clients in the region, including Boise-based JR Simplot, a food and agriculture company. It also works with California-based CareFusion.
“We've gotten to know the Boise marketplace really well,” said Neil Mortine, president and CEO of the agency, adding that other western offices are likely. “We also made a commitment to Simplot that we would have resources on the ground.”
John Curtis, who will join the firm next month, will lead the office as SVP and MD. He most recently served as EVP at fragrance company Scentsy, where he oversaw branding, marketing, PR, and social media for the Meridian, ID-based direct sales company. Curtis has also worked at Hewlett-Packard and Ketchum.
Fahlgren has served as AOR for various Scentsy brands.
For Curtis, he says it is a “dream job” to grow an office from scratch. The location will launch as a one-man shop and grow along with business. The agency hopes to increase Fahlgren's footprint in Idaho and other states in industries such as healthcare, higher education, tourism, and technology.
Fahlgren now has nine offices, including its Columbus, OH, headquarters.
The agency has also established a relationship with nonprofit the Idaho Food Bank, helping the group with marketing and communications.
