NEW YORK: Brand South Africa has retained Hill+Knowlton Strategies for a three-year global contract.
The organization rehired the WPP Group firm for the account following a competitive review involving three other agencies. Lalu Dasgupta, SVP of the global corporate advisory practice at H+K, will continue to lead account work.
H+K will help the organization promote South Africa as a business and investment destination and manage the country's international reputation. It will also support brand and reputational efforts during the World Economic Forum in Davos, the BRICS Summit, international trade initiatives, and state visits, as well as local, market-specific campaigns.
The agency previously managed a three-year international contract for Brand South Africa focused on the BRIC markets, Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, and Kenya. Its new assignment will continue to focus on these markets and potentially expand to Ghana, Zimbabwe, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
