NEW YORK: Professional services firm Ernst & Young has selected FleishmanHillard, Weber Shandwick, Peppercomm, The 10 Company, and River Communications as its agency roster handling US PR work.
E&Y appointed the agencies, several of which previously worked with the company, following an RFP process. Amy Call Well, PR director for the Americas at E&Y, confirmed its selections, but declined to disclose further information about the accounts.
According to sources familiar with the matter, Fleishman will continue to work across multiple divisions for E&Y, including transaction advisory services, power and utilities, and human capital, as well as advising on CSR, executive positioning, and general communications issues. Some of the programs have also been expanded. A representative from Fleishman declined to comment.
A representative from Weber deferred comment to the client. In 2010, Weber hired former E&Y communications director Ken Kerrigan as an EVP in its corporate practice.
Peppercomm has renewed its assignment handling PR for Ernst & Young's CFO program in the Americas and its strategic growth markets business, according to sources familiar with the matter. It is understood that Peppercomm also works on other Ernst & Young divisions, such as its consulting and financial services practices, that were not covered by the RFP. Representatives from Peppercomm declined to comment.
The 10 Company's assignment covers the fraud investigation and dispute services unit, according to sources familiar with the matter. It is a new business win for the agency. Representatives from the firm deferred comment to E&Y and declined to name the incumbent firm on its part of the account.
Former Peppercomm director Valerie Di Maria and Clare DeNicola, former CEO of technology provider Ivans, launched The 10 Company in January 2012 with a focus on brand and corporate positioning, executive thought leadership programs, crisis management, and M&A.
River Communications will continue to work on the company's tax division. Representatives from River deferred comment to the client.
The accounting firm previously worked with FleishmanHillard, Peppercomm, and River Communications.
Last December, E&Y's financial services business appointed Kreab Gavin Anderson as its retained media relations agency in the UK, following a competitive review.
Headquartered in London, E&Y is one of the “big four” global accounting and consulting firms, along with PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, and KPMG.
