Aramark hires former PepsiCo comms leader as SVP

PHILADELPHIA: DineEquity communications executive Tod MacKenzie will join food-service company Aramark in August.

PHILADELPHIA: DineEquity communications executive Tod MacKenzie will join food-service company Aramark in August.

MacKenzie, who has served as SVP of communications and public affairs at DineEquity since 2010, will leave the company at the end of July to become SVP of communications at Aramark.

Based in Philadelphia, Aramark provides food, facility management, and uniform services to universities, hospitals, sports arenas, entertainment venues, and businesses in 22 countries.

While at DineEquity, MacKenzie managed communications and public affairs programs for the company's two brands, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar and IHOP. DineEquity, which is headquartered in Glendale, CA, operates and franchises more than 3,600 restaurants in 17 countries.

Prior to joining DineEquity, MacKenzie was SVP of corporate communications at PepsiCo during his two-decade career at the company. Julie Hamp replaced him in the role in December 2007.

At PepsiCo, he worked with CEO Eric Foss, who now serves as president and chief executive of Aramark.
