BURLINGTON, MA: InVentiv Health's medical communications business has opened offices in Tokyo and New York.
Prior to the expansion, inVentiv Medical Communications had offices in London, Munich, Paris, Shanghai, Dallas, and the Philadelphia area.
The firm said it is seeing increased client demand for its services educating healthcare professionals. InVentiv Medical Communications focuses on facilitating peer-to-peer and scientific communications.
In New York, the move will allow the firm to offer integrated packages with sister inVentiv Health agencies, said Elaine Ferguson, global MD of inVentiv Medical Communications.
“We will really be able to build teams with more of a solutions focus rather than a siloed focus, which has been the more traditional experience,” she said.
Staff members in New York City were formerly part of Noveida Health. Noveida is operating as inVentiv Medical Communications New York, effective immediately. John LaPolla will lead the team there as MD.
In Tokyo, one impetus for opening an office is that it has become increasingly compulsory for medical professionals to receive an ongoing education, Ferguson said. An uptick in the use of digital communications has also presented business opportunities for the firm in the region.
Aya Tokaji will oversee the office as director of scientific services.
Earlier this year, inVentiv Health realigned its global communications division to operate with a “done as one” model and tapped Bob Chandler as worldwide president of the division.
