BALTIMORE: Imre has hired Kevin Windorf as SVP and leader of its financial services practice.
He will work in the firm's New York office, through he will often travel to its Baltimore headquarters and to the offices of clients around the country. Imre opened a 3,000-square-foot office in New York City in June.
Windorf said his hiring represents “the seriousness of the investment and commitment Imre is making towards the financial services industry.”
The firm counts Wells Fargo, MetLife, and T. Rowe Price as clients in the space. Windorf hopes to expand the agency's clientele to include hedge funds and other wealth-management organizations.
He explained that the financial services industry overall is rebuilding its communications strategies in response to changing consumer behavior, a challenging regulatory environment, and the adaptation of social and digital channels.
Mark Eber, president and partner at Imre, said bringing Windorf on-board in New York “is an opportunity to grow our business and bolster our profile.”
Prior to joining Imre, Windorf worked as an account executive at CNBC and director of marketing at BMO Capital Markets. He is president of the nonprofit Financial Communications Society.
Over the course of his career, Windorf has led marketing and branding campaigns for Bank of Montreal's investment bank, BMO Capital Markets, Deutsche Bank's Global Institutional Services, Chase Manhattan, and Private Bank.
Imre reported a 6% year-over-year revenue increase in 2012 to $11.8 million. It also had offices in Raleigh, NC, and Los Angeles and a headcount of 81 as of the end of last year.
