HONG KONG: McCann Health has joined forces with local health communications agency TT Healthcare to create TT McCann Health, marketing the advertising agency's re-entry into the healthcare market in Hong Kong after closing that arm in August 2009.
The combined offering will provide “the much-needed bandwidth” to offer specialist healthcare services to clients across Greater China, said John Cahill, global CEO of McCann Health.
The rebranded agency picked up its first piece of business with Arowana, a cooking oil brand in China owned by Singapore-based Wilmar International, following a four-way pitch.
TT Healthcare was incorporated in 2002 and has built up a client roster that includes GSK, Pfizer, Merck, Ipsen, Takeda, Haemonetics, DKSH, the Society for the Promotion of Hospice Care, and Hong Kong Specialist Care Foundation.
The new entity, TT McCann Health, will be located in the McCann WorldGroup office in Hong Kong. Renee Yueng will lead the agency as MD and report directly to David Shen, president of McCann Health Greater China.
Connie Lo, previously senior partner and founder of TT Healthcare, will continue to play a key role in business development and client relationship management at TT McCann Health for a foreseeable future.
Also joining the company is Shook Leung, who will be based in Guangzhou as brand director for Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta.
“Healthcare and wellness are deeply rooted in the culture of the Cantonese, presenting enormous opportunities for clients,” added Shen.
