NEW YORK: Global Strategy Group has appointed Joe Crisci, former corporate and public affairs SVP at FleishmanHillard, to serve as SVP and MD in its New York office.
Crisci, who had worked at Fleishman since 2010, started at GSG on Monday. He is reporting to Tanya Meck, EVP and MD.
Crisci's main responsibilities include day-to-day account work, driving new business and organic growth from existing clients, and helping to run GSG's corporate communications and reputation management practice. The communications unit has 20 staffers in New York City.
Crisci said his main objectives are to help the agency grow and to “push the envelope” with corporate communications, reputation management, and digital strategy.
Before Fleishman, Crisci worked at Burson-Marsteller for seven years, serving as a manger in the New York office's public affairs practice. He has also held several roles in politics, serving as issues director for now-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's (D) 2002 campaign for Congress.
Last month, GSG brought on former Ernst & Young PR director Charlie Perkins as an MD in New York, focusing on counseling clients on reputation and crisis-management issues.
GSG, founded in 1994 as an opinion-research firm, saw a 62% revenue increase, year-over-year, in 2012 to $24.9 million.
