MILWAUKEE: Department store chain Kohl's has selected Weber Shandwick as its PR agency partner, following a competitive review.
The company brought on Weber to handle all PR efforts for the brand, according to sources with knowledge of the subject.
It is understood that the review was led by agency search and management company Select Resources International.
Weber declined to comment on the contract. Representatives from Kohl's did not respond to numerous calls and emails on the subject.
Cramer-Krasselt has served as the company's incumbent for more than seven years. Representatives from the agency declined to comment on the review.
Kohl's, which has more than 1,150 stores in 49 states, reported a revenue drop of 1% year-over-year to $4.2 billion in the first quarter of 2013. The company also posted a 5% decrease in net income in the period.
The chain will report its second-quarter earnings on August 15.
