SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA: Digital agency StudioGood has acquired digital and social media consultancy Social People.

The deal will strengthen StudioGood's capabilities in digital and social strategy and expand its footprint to Atlanta, it said in a statement. The firm previously had offices in Dallas and New York City and headquarters in San Luis Obispo, CA.

Former Ketchum VP James Andrews founded Social People in 2009. Its core capabilities were digital and social media strategy, content development, social analytics, influencer outreach, and social media training. Clients have included Equinox Fitness, Beats by Dre, Red Bull, Nike, and The Weather Channel.

Andrews will become chief digital evangelist at StudioGood through the acquisition.

The two firms first worked together in 2009 when they created the #BeatCancer social media campaign at the Blogworld Expo in Las Vegas, NV.
