SYDNEY: Weber Shandwick Australia has joined forces with consumer public relations boutique agency Public City, which is owned and led by consumer consultant Marie Najjar.

Public City was founded in 2007 as a full-service boutique PR agency. Over the years, its clients have included brands in consumer electronics, media, government, hardware, retail, fashion, textiles, and sports.

Based in Sydney, Najjar will assume the position of director of the consumer practice, and will report to Ava Lawler, MD of Weber Australia. Najjar and her staff will continue to provide services directly to all of Public City's existing clients.

Najjar previously served as a member of Weber's consumer team in 2004. She and Lawler have also worked together at other agencies.

“The decision to move my business into Weber Shandwick was not an easy one, but it is a tremendous opportunity for our Public City staff to be part of such a talented team, and for our clients to enjoy the advantages of a leading global, creative network,” Najjar said in a statement.
