LOS ANGELES: Entertainment publicist Eddie Michaels died last Thursday after a battle with brain cancer. He was 49.
Michaels was first diagnosed with brain cancer more than seven years ago. The disease returned last year after several years in remission, according to a statement from agency Beck Media & Marketing.
Michaels established an agency in the 1980s that grew to become Insignia Public Relations. The firm was acquired by Beck Media & Marketing in 2012.
A memorial service for Michaels was held on Sunday.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Wilshire Boulevard Temple Building Lives in Los Angeles or the Johnnie Cochran Brain Institute.
