LONDON: WPP Group said Monday that its European corporate communications agency Addison will merge with The Group, a UK-based online corporate communications firm, and rebrand as Addison Group.
The combined shop will have about 120 employees and revenue of £12 million, or approximately $18.8 million. Clients include BASF, Heineken, Prudential, Tesco, Unilever, and Zurich Insurance.
The merger “anticipates the emerging requirements of leading companies, who, due to a combination of increased regulation, societal expectations, and developments in technology, are looking for a fundamentally different kind of agency support,” the holding company said in a statement.
Addison CEO Tom Robinson will serve in the same capacity at the merged agency, while The Group founder Mark Hill will serve as chairman.
