NEW YORK: ProPublica has named Nicole Collins Bronzan director of communications, effective September 16.
Reporting to president Richard Tofel, she will promote the online news organization's investigations to communities where they will have an impact.
Collins Bronzan previously served as communications director for Freedom to Marry, a pro-gay marriage organization. She has also worked at nonprofit public interest law firm Legal Action Center and was an editor at The New York Times from 2003 to 2009. Collins Bronzan began her career in journalism at the Tampa Bay Times.
She will replace Mike Webb, who will relocate to Hawaii after a brief transition period, at the nonprofit investigative news organization
