BELTSVILLE, MD: Vocus is updating its PRWeb service starting this week with social tags for Twitter and Google+.
Its goal is to make content on PRWeb more accessible and robust, the company said in a statement.
In its latest update, PRWeb is adding Twitter Cards, Google Author Tags, and markup language to ensure sites like Facebook can identify key release features, such as headline, summary, and date.
Twitter cards let companies make additional media available within tweets via a “show summary” feature that displays a visual asset and more content, including a headline and summary.
Meanwhile, Google Authorship is Google's way of determining a content creator's influence on the social web. PRWeb now allows users to add author tags to releases to tie them to their Google Author profiles.
