NORWALK, CT: Xerox CMO Christa Carone will step down from her position at the end of this month, the company confirmed on Friday.
It has begun a search for her replacement.
Karen Arena, VP of global communications, is now leading communications for the company, while VP of brand and marketing operations Duane Schulz is overseeing advertising, digital, experiential, and marketing operations.
“[Carone] leaves us with a strong capability in the marketing and communications area, and Duane and I will be continuing that strategy as it is set forth,” said Arena.
Carone said in a column on Forbes.com on Thursday that she was leaving the CMO role at Xerox “for a position with another company – a fascinating change and an important move for my family and me.” She added that the new job “feels like a custom fit came out of the blue.”
Before she was named Xerox's CMO in 2008, she served as VP of global communications for seven years, as well as in several other communications roles.
