SYDNEY: Edelman Australia has promoted Matthew Gain to GM of its Sydney office.
Gain rejoined Edelman in 2010 as director of brand and digital in Australia. He helped to lead the rebuilding of Edelman Australia into an integrated consumer and brand offer after the acquisition of digital agency Design Royale in 2012.
Gain will continue to report to Michelle Hutton, CEO of Edelman Australia.
He has led consumer and digital campaigns in Australia and internationally for consumer brands such as Microsoft, Procter & Gamble, KFC, eBay, MasterCard, Xbox, and Vodafone, the firm said in a statement.
Before joining Edelman, Gain was head of digital at Weber Shandwick, where he led its digital practice across Asia-Pacific. He has also worked in-house as PR manager at Microsoft, where he was responsible for consumer PR and digital engagement. Gain previously worked at Edelman UK and Ogilvy PR Australia.
Hutton added that “this appointment is one of a series of new senior appointments and offers we will be announcing in the coming weeks.”
