LONDON: Mobile communications company EE is planning to split its reporting lines after brand and communications chief Steven Day said he will leave the company at the end of this year “to move on to new adventures.”
The mobile giant will not replace him directly. It will instead split the reporting lines for the marketing and communications teams starting January 1, 2014.
The communications team will report to chief corporate and strategy officer Stephen Harris, and Pippa Dunn, chief consumer marketing officer, will manage the brand team.
CEO Olaf Swantee praised Day for his “pivotal role in the successful launch of EE.”
“With his strong internal and partner teams, [Day] created a brand that has become synonymous with innovation," he added.
Day worked at Orange as chief of staff for brand and communications before the merger of the France Telecom-owned company with T-Mobile in Europe in 2010.
