UK's DEFRA names Stewart interim director of comms

The UK's Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs has appointed Rae Stewart as director of communications on an interim basis following the recently announced departure of Kim Worts to The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

LONDON: The UK's Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs has appointed Rae Stewart as director of communications on an interim basis following the recently announced departure of Kim Worts to The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Stewart has been head of news and external communications at the department for more than two years.

His experience before DEFRA includes a stint as press secretary to Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and also leading communications for the Cabinet Office on the inquiry set up by then-Prime Minister Gordon Brown in 2009 on the War in Iraq.
