Publicis acquires India's Beehive Communications

Publicis Groupe has acquired Indian integrated firm Beehive Communications.

PARIS: Publicis Groupe has acquired Indian integrated firm Beehive Communications.

The deal is Publicis' seventh acquisition in the region since mid-2012, it said in a statement.

Founded in 2003, Beehive has more than 130 employees working in reputation management, digital, brand activation, and research. Its client roster of more than 50 companies includes Malaysia Tourism, General Motors, and India Bulls Finance.

Beehive, which has headquarters in Mumbai with offices in Delhi and Bangalore, will be rebranded as Publicis Beehive. Its current leadership team under the direction of founder and CEO Sanjit Shastri will continue to lead the agency. Shastri will report to Nakul Chopra, CEO of South Asia for Publicis Worldwide.

Publicis and former rival Omnicom Group announced their plans to merge in late July, creating the world's largest marketing and communications umbrella group. The deal faces approval from dozens of countries.
